What is a
Pandemic?

When people all over the world are falling sick over the same illness – you know there’s trouble in the air. While its easy to get carried away with knowledge based on movie references of contagious diseases, dealing with a pandemic isn’t all that scary. With the right prep and the right safety protocols, you can beat even the peskiest pandemic.

BEFORE

1

Be familiar with your family and neighborhood’s evacuation plans. Go over them until every member of your household is familiar.

2

Have a Bug Out Bag ready incase you have to evacuate. Also talk about what procedures to follow should one of you fall sick.

3

Identify a reliable means of being updated on emergency information.

4

Stock for about two weeks when buying groceries and prescription pills – panic buying is not only wasteful but also unfair to the other members of your community.

Prepare for a Pandemic

Practice good hygiene – wash your hands frequently, sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, wear a mask when travelling in public places and avoid touching your face.

If you are ill or think you’re falling ill, isolate yourself from your family members until your health has been cleared.
